Work From Home Advisory Issued as Heavy Rain Intensifies
The Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has requested private companies to allow employees to work from home wherever possible due to the severe weather conditions. Heavy rainfall has severely impacted connectivity between Mumbai and Pune. A major landslide near Tunnel 2 on the Missing Link section of the Mumbai–Pune Expressway forced authorities to shut the affected stretch after rocks and debris blocked the road.

BMC Urges Citizens to Avoid Unnecessary Travel
The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has advised citizens to postpone non-essential travel as waterlogging, falling trees and reduced visibility continue to impact movement across the city.
Construction sites have also been directed to suspend risky operations during periods of strong winds, while developers have been instructed to secure temporary structures and construction equipment.
Railway Minister Reviews Restoration Work
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw reviewed the situation after the landslides disrupted the Mumbai-Pune rail route.
According to officials, railway teams from multiple divisions have been deployed to restore services as quickly as possible. However, continuous rainfall remains the biggest challenge for restoration work.
