Rise and Fall 2: Swara Bhasker and Shehzad Poonawalla Clash, Heated Argument Takes Centre Stage

Rise and Fall 2 has barely started, but the drama inside the Tower has already picked up pace. Hosted by former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag, the second season premiered on September 26 with 15 contestants from entertainment, television, politics and social media.

One of the biggest talking points from the opening episodes has been the growing tension between Swara Bhasker and Shehzad Poonawalla. What started with Shehzad choosing to ignore Swara soon turned into a heated exchange, with the conversation eventually touching upon their political differences and Swara’s husband, Fahad Ahmed.

Swara Bhasker and Shehzad Poonawalla’s clash gets heated

The tension between the two contestants was visible almost from the beginning. According to reports from the episode, Shehzad chose not to interact with Swara after she entered the Tower and later spoke about her behind her back.

The situation became more noticeable when host Virender Sehwag questioned Shehzad about his decision to ignore Swara.

Shehzad defended his stance and said that he does not back down when someone challenges his opinions. His comments prompted a reaction from Swara, and what followed quickly became one of the most discussed moments from the early episodes.

Sehwag’s intervention added another layer to the exchange, with the host questioning whether Shehzad’s approach was really about ignoring Swara.

Swara questions Shehzad’s idea of ‘ignoring’

Swara later pointed out that Shehzad had spoken about her extensively before and around the show’s launch. She argued that repeatedly discussing someone could hardly be described as simply ignoring them.

The conversation then moved beyond the initial disagreement and became much more personal.

Swara and Shehzad have already been positioned as contrasting personalities in Rise and Fall 2, and their rivalry was being discussed even before the season premiered. Their inclusion among the first announced contestants had already generated attention because of their differing public positions.

The ‘drowning political career’ remark

The argument took another turn when the conversation moved towards politics.

During the exchange, Swara said that Rise and Fall 2 is a game and not an election, before making a remark about Shehzad’s political career.

Shehzad responded by telling Swara not to worry about his career and instead referred to her husband.

The exchange became one of the most talked-about moments from the episode because the reality-show argument suddenly moved into the political space. Recent coverage of the episode also highlighted Shehzad’s reference to Fahad Ahmed during the confrontation.

Swara eventually indicated that she did not want to take the argument any further, saying that she knew enough about Shehzad but did not want to turn the conversation into a personal mud-slinging contest.

Why did Fahad Ahmed come into the conversation?

Shehzad’s reference to Fahad Ahmed brought Swara’s family and political background into the argument.

Fahad Ahmed, Swara Bhasker’s husband, contested the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly election from Anushakti Nagar on the NCP (Sharadchandra Pawar) ticket. Election coverage reported that he lost the contest to Sana Malik.

Because of this political background, Shehzad’s comment about Swara’s husband immediately became part of the discussion surrounding their Rise and Fall 2 confrontation.

However, the exchange took place within the reality-show setting, where personal opinions, rivalries and strategic gameplay are already becoming an important part of the competition.

Swara Bhasker had already called Shehzad a ‘troll’

Interestingly, the rivalry did not begin inside the Tower.

Before entering Rise and Fall 2, Swara spoke about Shehzad in an exclusive interview with SCREEN. She described him as a “troll” and suggested that the show’s makers had found a natural rivalry after she agreed to participate.

Swara also claimed that Shehzad had repeatedly spoken about her through interviews, videos and social media posts. She suggested that their rivalry had become a storyline even before the contestants entered the show.

Shehzad, meanwhile, has maintained his own position during the confrontation, making it clear that he does not intend to step away from an argument simply because someone disagrees with him.

A rivalry that started before the premiere

The Swara-Shehzad equation was already being promoted as an interesting part of the season before the premiere. Both were among the first four contestants officially revealed for the new season alongside Karan Patel and Priyanka Chahar Choudhary.

Once they entered the Tower, their differences quickly became part of the show’s storyline.

For a reality show based heavily on power, alliances and changing positions, such clashes can naturally become an important part of the game.

What is Rise and Fall 2 all about?

Rise and Fall 2 brings together 15 contestants who are divided into two groups — Rulers and Workers.

The Rulers stay in the luxurious Penthouse and have greater control over the game, while the Workers live in the Basement and have to compete for opportunities to move upwards.

The power structure is not permanent. Contestants can change their positions through challenges, decisions, alliances and voting. This makes strategy an important part of the show rather than keeping the contestants in fixed teams.

When and where to watch Rise and Fall 2

The second season of Rise and Fall 2 premiered on September 26, 2026. The show is available through Amazon MX Player and Prime Video, with new episodes streaming daily at around 12 noon IST. Recent listings also describe the MX Player stream as free with ads.

Virender Sehwag as the new host

Another major change this season is the arrival of Virender Sehwag as host. He has taken over hosting duties after Ashneer Grover, bringing a completely different personality to the reality-show format.

Sehwag has already found himself in the middle of the Swara-Shehzad exchange by questioning Shehzad about his decision to ignore Swara.

What happens next in Rise and Fall 2?

The Swara Bhasker and Shehzad Poonawalla clash has given Rise and Fall 2 an early talking point, but the competition is still at a very early stage.

With 15 contestants competing for power, alliances are expected to change as the game progresses. The Rulers will have to protect their positions, while the Workers will look for opportunities to move up.

For viewers following the show, the biggest question now is whether the Swara-Shehzad rivalry will remain limited to verbal clashes or become a bigger part of the game’s alliances and strategy.
