MG Hector Tomahawk EV Spied Undisguised: New 7-Seater Electric SUV Reveals Production Design

The upcoming MG Hector Tomahawk EV has made its clearest appearance in India yet. The new three-row electric SUV was recently spotted completely undisguised during what appears to be a TVC shoot in Pune, giving us a much better look at its production-spec exterior ahead of its expected August 26 debut.
MG had already teased its upcoming SUV and confirmed that its new ADAPT platform will support multiple electrified powertrains. The new electric SUV will be the first production model based on this architecture in India.
The SUV is expected to be sold as a seven-seater and could sit above the existing Hector in MG’s lineup. While the company is yet to officially confirm the final name, Hector Tomahawk and Hector Hawk have both been used in reports, with the Tomahawk name gaining attention after MG trademarked it in India.

MG Hector Tomahawk EV Design Revealed
The undisguised test vehicle gives the MG Hector Tomahawk EV a much more familiar look than some of the futuristic electric SUVs currently entering the Indian market.
At the front, the SUV gets a closed-off EV-style upper section with the MG badge placed prominently in the centre. Slim LED daytime running lights stretch outwards, while the main rectangular headlamp units sit lower on the outer edges.
The bumper gets a large lower opening along with vertical air curtains on both sides. The overall design is upright and boxy, which makes sense for a three-row SUV where cabin space and practicality are important.
The spotted SUV was finished in an olive/light green shade with a contrasting black roof and black elements around the lower body. The black treatment continues around the squared-off wheel arches, giving the SUV a more rugged appearance.

Large Seven-Seater SUV Proportions
The side profile makes it clear that this is a proper three-row SUV rather than a compact electric crossover.
The MG Hector Tomahawk EV gets a long wheelbase, large glass area and an extended rear section designed to accommodate the third row. The roof remains relatively flat, while the rising window line towards the rear gives the SUV a traditional three-row silhouette.
Other visible elements include roof rails, large ORVMs, conventional door handles, chrome detailing around the windows and chunky black body cladding.
The dual-tone alloy wheels also add a premium touch to the overall design.
With its large dimensions and upright stance, the Tomahawk EV looks positioned to appeal to buyers who want an electric SUV with proper family-car practicality.
What To Expect Inside
MG has indicated that the upcoming SUV will offer a seven-seat layout, with a bench arrangement expected for the second row.
The cabin is expected to follow a modern and minimalistic theme, with a large touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display. Reports suggest that the SUV could get a 12.8-inch touchscreen paired with an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster.
Other expected features include:
- Panoramic sunroof
- Ventilated front seats
- Powered tailgate
- Wireless phone charging
- Automatic climate control
- AC vents for the second and third rows
- 360-degree camera
- Electronic parking brake
- Six airbags
- ADAS safety technology
The final India-spec feature list, however, will only be confirmed closer to the launch.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV Battery, Range & Performance
The biggest talking point could be the battery and range. The MG Hector Tomahawk EV is expected to use a battery pack of around 69.2kWh, paired with a single front-mounted electric motor.
The global model used as a reference is associated with an output of around 201-204 PS and 310 Nm, while the claimed range figure has been reported at around 530 km on the CLTC cycle.
However, these figures should not be treated as final India-spec specifications yet. The official battery, motor output, charging capability and certified range will be important details to watch when MG reveals the SUV.
MG’s new ADAPT architecture itself has been designed to support EV, PHEV, HEV and range-extender configurations, giving the company flexibility to introduce different powertrain versions in the future.
MG Hector Tomahawk EV Price & Rivals
When it comes to MG Hector Tomahawk EV price, the company has not announced an official figure yet. Current reports and expectations place the electric SUV somewhere in the ₹20 lakh–₹30 lakh ex-showroom bracket, although MG could surprise the market with aggressive pricing.
The SUV is expected to compete with upcoming and existing electric SUVs such as the Mahindra XEV 9S, while its three-row positioning also puts it in the broader territory of premium family SUVs. Earlier reports have suggested that MG wants to price its new electric SUV competitively against the XEV 9S.
