The story unfolds in Srirampuram, a village in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district, where the annual Bharatham Jatara is celebrated with deep faith and tradition. The festival isn’t just a backdrop—it shapes every major decision the characters make.
Lenin, an orphan who arrives in the village as a child, is raised by the respected village head’s family. Over the years, he develops an inseparable bond with Vasanth while gradually falling in love with Bharati. What initially feels like a familiar rural love story slowly transforms into an emotional conflict driven by loyalty, sacrifice, and betrayal.
Without revealing the film’s biggest surprises, the screenplay cleverly shifts gears before the interval and continues building momentum in the second half. The mystery surrounding Lenin’s imprisonment and the truth behind several relationships keeps the narrative engaging until the climax.
Performances
Akhil Akkineni delivers what is arguably the strongest performance of his career. His portrayal balances vulnerability, anger, and emotional restraint with surprising maturity. Instead of depending only on action sequences, his character succeeds because of the emotional journey he undergoes.
Bhagyashri Borse proves to be an excellent casting choice for Bharati. She brings sincerity to the role and shares convincing chemistry with Akhil, making their relationship feel genuine rather than forced.
Shivaji leaves a lasting impression with a powerful supporting performance, while Pramod Panju, Easwari Rao, Brahmaji, Sunil, and the rest of the supporting cast strengthen the village atmosphere with believable performances.
